WICHITA, Kan. – Police in Kansas have canceled an Amber Alert after a 5-year-old boy, believed to be in immediate danger, was found safe.

According to the Wichita Police Department, the boy was forcibly taken from his mother by his father on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities reported the father, armed with a gun and a knife, stabbed the child’s mother and threatened to kill the boy during a domestic altercation.

The father fled with the child in a vehicle, which was later located nearby.

Police later confirmed the child had been found safe, but no further details were provided.
