Tigers baseball outscores Saints 27-1 in doubleheader

The Demopolis Tigers baseball team totaled 27 runs in their sweep of the visiting Selma Saints, taking Game 1 by a score of 11, and Game 2 by a score of 16-1. The Tigers collected seven hits in Game 1 and 11 hits in Game 2. Game two was halted in the bottom of the third inning, after the Tigers reached a 15-run lead.

Vincent Deas got the start on the mound for Game 1 and completed five innings. Deas struck out 10 while issuing one walk and surrendering three hits.

Josh Holley led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-3 in Game 1. Montgomery Freeman, Kevin McElroy, Ryan Bumgarner and Mac Bradley picked up one hit each. Holley and McElroy tallied three RBIs each. Freeman, Bumgarner and Coleman Fuqua collected one RBI each. Two of the Tigers runs were unearned.

Drew Seymore took the win on the mound for Game 2, completed three innings of work. Seymore struck out five, walked two and did not give up a run. Jeremiah Bell also saw time on the mound, striking out one, walking two and surrendering one hit and one run.

Fuqua led the Tigers at the plate for Game 2, going 3-for-4, and collecting four RBIs. McElroy and Deas tallied two hits for the Tigers. Joseph Gantt, Freeman, Holley and Bradley collected one hit each. McElroy collected three RBIs, with Gannt, Freeman, Bradley and Deas tallying two RBIs each.
