‘Miss Pearl’ bringing her message of manners to McHAM

“Miss Pearl” has a mission. She is waging a crusade to bring back manners and common courtesy.

“It’s about reminding some people to be nice,” she says, “and based on my own experiences, we need it more than ever!”

“Miss Pearl” is bringing her message to Demopolis in an evening of comedy, wit and wisdom when the Two Rivers Arts Council sponsors her visit Thursday, April 7, at the Marengo County History and Archives Museum.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. It is free two members of the Two Rivers Arts Council.

Known in real life as Colleen Sprayberry, “Miss Pearl” is married to Stephen Sprayberry of the Sprayberry Barbecue Business, and whom she affectionately calls “Big.” The couple lives in Newnan, Ga., and have two sons, Stephen Jr., known as “Little” and Wallace who answers to “Baby.”

“Miss Pearl” has spoken on topics such as the proper funeral attire, wedding etiquette, beach rules, football fun, term limits for politicians and being a caregiver, followed by a few suggestions for the news media!

She writes a weekly column for The Newnan Times-Herald. Her Facebook page has more than 5,000 “friends” and reaches across the country. She has a closer-knit group of girlfriends, known as the “Gnat Line Girls,” who have been together since fourth grade.
