Sweet Water softball lights up scoreboard for late week wins

Sweet Water (9-6, 1-0) blew out Southern Choctaw Thursday night before dispatching of Class 1A, Area 1 foe Fruitdale Friday night. The pair of wins followed a strong weekend at the Washington County High School tournament at which Sweet Water went 3-1.

SWEET WATER 16, SOUTHERN CHOCTAW 4

Megan Roe was as dominant as ever in Thursday’s skunking of Southern Choctaw as she struck out 11 batters and allowed only three hits and three earned runs in seven innings of work for the win. Mallory Roe helped lead the way with the bat, driving in four runs while going 2 for 4 at the plate. BreAnna Ramsey was 3 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Natalie Luker went 3 for 3. Madison Smith scored four runs.

Megan Roe scored two runs and drove in one. Eve Myers scored one run and drove in two. Sara Irvin scored a pair of runs and drove in one. Lindsey Davis scored three times while Charlie Vickers scored once.

Irvin and Ramsey each doubled twice while Luker and Myers doubled once apiece. Davis tripled. Myers and Vickers each stole a base.

SWEET WATER 20, FRUITDALE 6

The Bulldogs jumped on Fruitdale early Friday night and scarcely ever let up while compiling 22 hits to put together the 20-6 win.

Sweet Water scored seven runs in the second, four in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and six in the seventh for the win. Eve Myers, Mallory Roe and Megan Roe each doubled while Elaina Mitchell tripled in the effort. Irvin, Mitchell and Vickers each stole a base.

Mallory Roe had four RBIs while Ramsey had three. Mitchell, Myers, Luker and Vickers had two RBIs apiece. Irvin and Megan Roe each drove in one run.

Megan Roe, Mallory Roe and Myers scored three runs each. Mitchell, Ramsey, Luker, Irvin and Davis had two runs apiece. Vickers scored once.
