One hospitalized after Saturday night shooting in Demopolis

A shooting on Highway 43 South left one hospitalized Saturday night. The shooting occurred at a location formerly known as The Garage Event Center, a venue located at 1621 Highway 43 South.

According to the venue’s owner, the venue was rented for a birthday party when an altercation occurred between multiple people and shots were fired. A male subject was shot and was transported to Bryan Whitfield Hospital, then transferred to DCH where he remains in stable condition.

The case is under investigation according to the Demopolis Police Department.
