Foundation, Chamber treat teachers to breakfast

As teachers returned to campus in Demopolis Wednesday in preparation for classes starting Thursday, they were treated to breakfast as a way to thank them as they face a challenging year with the novel coronavirus.

Foundation director Ashley Coplin, left, sets up the breakfast for teachers at Westside Elementary.

The Demopolis City Schools Foundation and the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce joined to purchase enough breakfast meals from Jack’s Restaurant to serve teachers and staff at all four campuses.

Ashley Coplin, Foundation director, and David Lyons, director of the DACC, delivered the meals early Wednesday morning. Everyone wore the appropriate masks and tried to keep the six-foot distance recommended to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Breakfasts await pickup.
