Penny Thoughts: Campaign of Hate/Politics of Fear

In the midst of the infomercial, which is the current Democratic Party National Convention, taking the four hours to actually read through the 80-page 2020 Democratic Party Platform can be stunningly revealing. Not only can one confirm all the hysteria we see and hear on television about the divisive and anti-American nature of the direction of today’s Democratic Party; it is there in print in their own language citing in detail what the  elements of their “transition” for America will envelope. And to borrow the words of one of my editors, “It is chilling”!

The first two nights of the “convention” established two things: 1) the only fundamental element of the Democratic campaign is hatred and there is no watering down this glaring fact. They offer nothing positive. Everything is in reaction to President Trump and his policies! Put simply, there is nothing President Trump has done which is either constructive or positive! He is presented as the primary source of division in our Nation! And point 2) there is nothing present in the DNA of America which is worth saving since it was all founded on lies and deceit…the lie of slavery and the deceit of capitalism.

With this as the Democratic party’s foundational belief, America must be burned down, both literally and figuratively, its history must be rejected, its statues must be destroyed, its institutions must be demeaned, and its Constitution must be completely re-written. That is what they mean every time you hear the word “transformative” as it applies to America.

The vindictiveness and vicious attacks on President Trump and his family have not been so directed at any President since 1828 when General Andrew Jackson’s wife, Rachel, was called a whore during his campaign for the Presidency.

Having lived through 17 presidential campaigns and13 presidents, what the Democrats have sustained for more than four years against President Trump is the most vitriolic, destructive, and rancorous crusade I have ever seen or could ever have imagined! At its base is unabashed and unadulterated hatred!

They and their cohorts from across the aisle, those disaffected RINO’s and former employees from Trump’s original staff, have revealed their real colors.  Every one of them is or was one of those President Trump promised to expel when he campaigned on the promise to “Drain the Swamp”. The sad truth is that the Swamp was far deeper and far wider than any of us could have imagined. And since he won in 2016, they have waged an incessant onslaught to try to destroy his Presidency.

We cannot be deceived by their lies. It is they who have sowed the seeds of disunity and dissention throughout America. And their motivation is hatred.

Hatred has not been enough, however. There must be a vehicle to carry this hatred to its wider audience. This is where the exploitation of the COVID-19 fiasco came it. The confusion and misstatements by so many varying renditions of “the science” has been mind-boggling. The contradictions have allowed politicians to cherry pick those given “details” of “the science” at will, and they have used them to their advantage to create a sense of pure fear.  It is this same elemental emotion which allows people to be controlled and convinced that something is actually the case when it is not.

Fear is the most insidious emotion in the entire human organism and has been deployed by tyrants for centuries to control their subjects.  Convince a people that something is to be feared and those in power can alleviate or minimize their fear by promising to somehow mollify it. In fact, the Democrats have weaponized the COVID-19 issue to create the fear needed to justify their hatred of President Trump, and to promote it as truth.

The incessant panoply of lies coming out of the Democratic infomercial is difficult to digest or even rationalize as just being “politics”. They deeply destroy any hope of unity in our Nation and if they continue the lies there is little hope of eliminating the division which they have started and which they promulgate.

It is a destruction from which it will be difficult to recover. And it is all hatred built upon fear.
