Demopolis BOE holds called meeting

The Demopolis City Schools Board of Education met briefly Tuesday morning in a special called meeting.

During the session the DCS board approved out-of-state travel for Leslie Gibbs to Louisville, Ky. to serve as an AP exam reader. That trip will occur June 8 through June 16 of this year.

The board also approved the Family Medical Leave Act requests of both Sherry McAlpine and Katie Poole.

The board then went into executive session to discuss general reputation and character.

“Coming out of executive session, they approved a motion and an addendum to utilize the Alabama Department of Public Examiners for FY13 audit due to the fact that we’re going through continued compliance,” Demopolis City Schools Superintendent Dr. Al Griffin said of the executive session.
