Wallace Community College expanding to Demopolis

SELMA, AL. – Wallace Community College Selma officially will announce a service area expansion Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at the Demopolis Higher Education Center.

Effective this fall WCCS will be adding not only Marengo but Sumter, Greene, Hale, Lowndes and Wilcox counties to its service areas.

A sound educational system is necessary for communities to achieve or sustain economic growth, said Dr. James M. Mitchell, president of WCCS. He said the college is excited about the opportunity to continue providing access to higher education and innovative technical training to these counties.

The Demopolis Higher Education Center will serve as a central location for academic, technical, dual enrollment and short term programs. WCCS will begin offering courses this fall and continue to add additional courses in the spring of 2020.

Wallace Community College Selma works to provide high-quality learning-centered educational opportunities and services through diverse instructional-delivery modes that are responsive to individual, community, state, and global needs.
