UWA’s Wehling named All-GSC

rp_primary_VB_13-09-28_IMG_0042aLIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama women’s volleyball senior Carly Wehling was named to the 2013 All-Gulf South Conference First Team as voted on by league coaches on Tuesday.

Wehling, a native of Readlyn, Iowa, was a true dual-threat player during the regular season. On offense, she led the conference with 52 service aces (0.48 per set). She led her squad with 669 assists (sixth in the conference) and ended the season with 139 kills (1.25 kills per set).

On defense, Wehling posted the team’s third most blocks by totaling 38. She finished fourth with 240 digs.

Wehling and the Tigers will be back in action on Friday as they take on West Georgia in the first round of the GSC tournament. The match is set for 7:30 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla.
