UWA’s Swindle earns BSN Player of the Week

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Beyond Sports Network has named West Alabama running back Javae Swindle as one of its Division II Offensive Players of the Week for his performance against Central State last week. This is the second time Swindle has been honored by BSN this year.

Swindle ran for 280 yards and scored three touchdowns while leading UWA to a record-setting 91-28 win over the Marauders.

A 5-4, 162-pound sophomore from Thorsby, Ala., Swindle’s 280 yards on 19 carries was a UWA school record, the most in the Gulf South Conference this season and is third on the GSC’s single-game record list. One of his three touchdown runs, an 88-yarder, is the sixth longest in the league history.
