UWA women’s tennis slams Stillman, 8-1

rp_primary_Tennis_Women_Team_Pic94LIVINGSTON – After waiting out a three-hour delay to allow the courts to dry, the University of West Alabama women’s tennis team defeated Stillman College, 8-1, at the Vaughn Tennis Complex Tuesday.

The victory improved UWA to 4-2. Stillman College dropped to 6-3.

“We beat a very good Stillman team. Coach (Will) Riley has done a super job putting together a tough Stillman Squad,” UWA head coach Glen Fanelli said. “We were fortunate to have played so well. We were ready and I am proud of our effort and patience in waiting out the rain.”

West Alabama set the tone by sweeping the doubles competition and then won five of six singles matches, putting the match away by the time No. 3 singles was over.
