UWA Big Bass Bonanza at Lake LU open through April 25

LIVINGSTON — The University of West Alabama invites students, faculty, and staff to compete in the annual UWA Big Bass Bonanza tournament hosted at Lake LU. The tournament began Feb. 25 and concludes April 25.

The top three anglers that catch the three heaviest largemouth bass will be declared the winners. A $5 non-refundable entry fee is required for each angler that enters the tournament, and cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

Lake LU is open on Wednesday and Saturdays from 6 a.m. until dark and Sunday from noon until dark. Please abide by the Lake LU rules and regulations when competing in the tournament. For a complete list of rules and regulations all anglers should visit www.lakelu.uwa.edu.

Anglers may enter one fish per day, and once the caught bass is entered into the tournament it must be returned back to Lake LU. Anglers may enter a larger fish on another day, but the larger fish overrides the previous fish, which cannot be transferred to another angler.

The Lake Manager or his assistants will keep detailed records of registered anglers and their fish weights. The Lake Manager or his assistants will be responsible for all official fish weights and records and their decision is final.
Updates on the tournament will be sent to the UWA Intramurals Facebook page. Any tournament anglers who do not follow the rules of the tournament or Lake LU will be disqualified and removed from the tournament.
