Driver passes out, runs into residence

At approximately 4 p.m. Monday, Demopolis Police Department and Demopolis Fire Department personnel along with AmStar responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 700 block of East Pettus Street.

The driver was attempting to drive to the emergency room when he lost consciousness, causing the vehicle he was driving to leave the roadway and drive through the wall of a residence at 718 East Pettus Street. The driver was taken by ambulance to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. There were no other injuries.
