Trio of Linden High student-athletes sign

Isaiah Scott signed to play football with Faulkner University Wednesday.

Isaiah Scott became the third member of the Linden High Class of 2018 to sign a National Letter of Intent when he inked an offer from NAIA Faulkner University Wednesday.

Scott, who intends to walk on and play basketball while at the Montgomery institution, signed an offer to play football as part of the first recruiting class of new Faulkner head coach Shane Wasden.

Scott, who will feature on offense for the Eagles, was an ASWA All-State wide receiver his senior season with the Patriots. He hauled in 28 passes for 693 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also proved a stud on defense where he finished with 60 tackles and five interceptions.

Scott joins classmates Amber Richardson and Dajia Miller as collegiate signees.

Amber Richardson signed to play basketball at Wallace State of Selma.

Richardson, a former ASWA Class 1A Player of the Year, was a finalist for the classification’s highest honor three times after a stellar career that saw her start five varsity seasons including two at John Essex High. Richardson, who averaged 18.4 points and 13.7 rebounds her senior season, signed with Wallace State Community College out of Selma.

Dajia Miller signed to play basketball with LBW of Andalusia.

Dajia Miller, who also spent time on the John Essex varsity squad before transferring to Linden and starting for three seasons, signed with Lurleen B. Wallace Community College of Andalusia. Miller showed her shot-making ability later in her prep career but built her reputation off of precision passing and tenacious defense. The diminutive dynamo is a multi-time West Alabama Watchman All-County performer.
