Tigers use 22 point fourth quarter to down Jaguars, 61-49 (with photo gallery)

The Demopolis Tigers boys basketball team used a 22-point fourth quarter to overcome a 40-39 deficit at the end of the third quarter to defeat the visiting Northridge Jaguars, 61-49.

The Tigers held a 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Jaguars trimmed that lead down to three at 29-26 by the half. Then, the Jaguars outscored the Tigers 14-10 in the third to take the 40-39 lead at the end of the third. The Tigers roared back by scoring 22 points in the final quarter, while holding the Jaguars to only nine. When the final buzzer sounded, the Tigers claimed a 61-49 win.

Bryan Bennett led the Tigers with 17 points, hitting eight of his nine field goal attempts. Peyton Stevenson delivered 15 points and Joshua Mason added 14. KoDarrious Vawters chipped in eight, and Decorrius Hicks added three. Price Smith and Dalyn Jackson added two each.

Bennet also led the Tigers with eight rebounds. Mason had seven and Cole Wilson added six. Hicks and Stevenson added four rebounds each. Vawters tallied three rebounds, while Dre Brown added two rebounds. Smith and Jackson were credited with one rebound each.
