‘Pickers’ returning to Alabama; looking for places in Marengo County to pick

“American Pickers,” the popular documentary series on The History Channel, is making a return visit to Alabama in February and is looking for places to showcase.

Anthony Rodriguez, senior story producer for the show, said he is “looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with fascinating items and lots of them!”

“American Pickers” explores the world of antique “picking.” It follows skilled pickers Mike Wolfe and Danielle Colby as they hunt for valuable items.

They have a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way they meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items, many with historical significance.

“Please note that the pickers only pick private collections,” Rodriguez stressed. They do not use stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions or anything open to the public.

“We are looking for different, unusual and unique items, something we’ve never seen before with an extraordinary story,” he continued.

“We at ‘American Pickers’ are still taking the pandemic very seriously and will follow all guidelines and protocols for safe filming outlined by the state,” said Rodriguez.
