One killed in Marengo County crash

A single-vehicle crash at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, claimed the life of a Safford man.

Andrew Lewis, 55, died at 11:03 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa from injuries he received in Monday’s crash.

The vehicle Lewis was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. Seat belts were not in use.

The crash occurred on Marengo County 65 eight miles east of Thomaston. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
