Nominations for DACC awards open; auction items needed
The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for its 105th Celebration and is looking to city businesses and residents for help.
The event will be held May 11 at the Demopolis Civic Center. It will open at 6 p.m. with a silent auction followed by dinner and awards honoring those who “have gone over and beyond in 2020,” said David Lyons, Chamber director.
The Chamber is asking for nominations for Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Chamber and Youth Volunteers of the Year, Community Spirit and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Nominations are due by April 23. They may be emailed to director@demopolischamber.com or delivered to the Chamber at 102 E. Washington St. Nominations should include one or two paragraphs giving reasons for the recommendations.
The Chamber also is asking for donations for the silent auction.
