Nine consecutive wins for UWA women’s tennis
CLEVELAND, Miss. β The University of West Alabama women’s tennis team ran its winning streak to nine consecutive matches with a 7-2 Gulf South Conference victory over Delta State Friday at the DSU Tennis Courts.
The win improved the Tigers to 12-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Delta State is 3-5 and 1-1. UWA remains in Cleveland to face Ouachita Baptist (0-8) Saturday at 10 a.m.
UWA set the tone by sweeping the doubles and went on to win four of six singles matches. Stanzi Stuijt, Natalia Cardenas, Christina Bettag and Dasha Popova each won singles matches.
