Longhorns score in every inning, beat Patrician 10-6

Marengo Academy (16-5-2, 2-0) downed area foe Patrician 9-3 Tuesday behind the offensive spark of Brant Lewis.

The Longhorns led 2-0 after the first inning and stretched the lead to 4-0 in the second. A rough third frame left Patrician with a 6-4 lead. The Longhorns stormed back to tie the game in the fourth before adding one in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Lewis went 3-for-5 in the game with a double, a two-run homer and three RBIs. Hayden Hall finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Wallace Tutt was 2-for-3 while Wyatt Hale finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The Longhorns are scheduled to play Thursday and Friday against Sumter before facing Kingwood and Autauga Academy in a double-header Saturday.
