Local students recognized at UWA Honors Day (Includes Gallery)

LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The University of West Alabama recently recognized outstanding students for their academic achievements and leadership roles at the institution’s annual Honors Day.

Nicole Aledo of Demopolis was inducted into Beta Beta Beta honor society. The freshman general science education major is the daughter of Denise Ethridge.

Renosha Barlow of Demopolis was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta, Beta Beta Beta, Lambda Sigma, and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. Barlow received Student Support Services 2015-2016 Freshman of the Year Award and Phi Eta Sigma Achievement Award. The freshman biology comprehensive major is the daughter of Penny Barlow.

Carolyne Baker of Demopolis was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta and Cardinal Key honor societies and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society. The sophomore pre-pharmacy major is the daughter of Pam and Wayne Baker.

Madelyn Couch of Demopolis was inducted into Cardinal Key, Delta Mu Delta, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. The junior marketing major is the daughter of Donna and Jeff Couch.

Carley Lawrence of Demopolis was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society. The freshman athletic training major is the daughter of Tina and Wes Lawrence.

Preston Lolley of Demopolis was inducted into Delta Mu Delta honor society. The junior marketing major is the son of Patricia and Mike Lolley.

Nicole Martin of Demopolis was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society. Martin serves as the second floor representative Resident Hall Association. The freshman nursing major is the daughter of Barbara and William Martin.

Daniel Ratcliff of Demopolis was inducted into Cardinal Key honor society and is a member of Beta Beta Beta and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. The junior environmental science major is the son of Teresa and Roger Ratcliff.

Mary Rivers of Thomaston was inducted into Psi Chi honor society. The junior psychology major is the daughter of Sadie and Otis Rutledge.

Heath Stanford of Demopolis was inducted into Beta Beta Beta and Cardinal Key honor societies and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society. The junior environmental science major is the son of Penny and Jim Stanford.

Caleb Washington of Demopolis was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society. She is a member of Alpha Phi Omega. The freshman sociology major is the daughter of Evern Washington.
