Lady Tigers rock Greensboro for 16-0 victory

Demopolis used a 10-run fourth inning to propel it to a 16-0 victory over Greensboro Tuesday.

Demopolis scored a pair of runs in the first inning when five walks and a hit-by-pitch produced a 2-0 lead. Bria Brown walked to force in Napoleon Roberson before Weezie Hughes walked to drive in Wessy Jacobs.

Lane Braeden Burbage singled to lead off the second and later scored on an Abby Grace Cameron sacrifice fly.

Taylor Smith singled in Hughes in the top of the third inning. Abrams scored on an error before Burbage hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Smith for the 6-0 lead.

Two errors and a dropped third strike contributed to the wheels falling off for Greensboro in the fourth. Hughes scored on an error and Smith singled in Abrams to make it 8-0 in favor of Demopolis. Cameron singled home Smith before Hannah’s single plated Burbage and Roberson. Cameron scored on a passed ball. Hughes singled in Jacobs to move the score to 13-0. Jacobs doubled home Montz before Smith singled home Hughes. Tiffany McInnis’s RBI grounder plated Jacobs for the final run of the game.

Hannah picked up the win while striking out six and allowing one hit over three innings of work. Montz finished the game with two strikeouts in her lone inning.

Demopolis (19-10) hosts Dallas County and West Blocton Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.
