Lady Tigers get no-hit road win on Selma Senior Night

The Demopolis Lady Tigers (15-9) picked up a late-season area road win over the Selma Saints Thursday.

Demopolis freshman Madison Ford tossed a five-inning no-hitter, giving up one walk and striking out 10 in the 16-0 romp.

Demopolis jumped on the board early, closing the first inning up 4-0. Abby Grace Cameron scored on a Selma error off the bat of Sydney Smith. Lizzie Cannon pushed Wessie Jacobs across on a rip to center. Ashton Moorer and Cannon both would score later on a ball Mary Creigh Smith knocked down the third base line.

Demopolis picked up in the second where they left off with Ford and Sydney Smith crossing home to put the visiting Tigers up 6-0.

Chloe Key, Cameron, Sydney Smith, Moorer, Cannon, Kylie Stokes and Mary Creigh Smith would all score in the third for a 13-0 lead.

Ford went 3-for-4 at the plate, knocking in two runs. Cannon and Cameron led the team in RBI with three each, and each scored twice. Mary Creigh Smith, Moorer and Ford drove in two runs each and Lauren Smith knocked in one.

Demopolis has two games remaining before heading into the area tournament, where the Lady Tigers are the No. 2 seed.
