Jones crowned 2018 Miss Junior Christmas on the River

10-1-18 — Demopolis, Ala. — Caylee Madison Jones was crowned 2018 Miss Junior Christmas on the River at the Demopolis Civic Center.

The pageantry continued tonight with the crowning of Miss Junior Christmas on the River. A count of 31 middle school beauties competed on the civic center stage with a full house audience. After they were all scored on their beauty, poise, and grace, the judges narrowed the contestants down to a top 16. Those ladies were Rylee Paris Black, Savannah Sutton Ogden, Madelyn Baty Singleton, Emma Ryan Edmonds, Caylee Madison Jones, Rylie Abigail Craft, Madison Grace Sewell, Brinkli Reece Wood, Caroline Elizabeth Upchurch, Emery Elizabeth Wideman, Sasser Elizabeth Braswell, Taylor Mills Quinney, Adalyn Broox Lindsey, Sadie Rose Carter, Lauren Olivia Tripp, and Karalynn Rose Kallhoff.

The top 16 got one more chance to impress the judges before they selected the top five to answer a question on stage and show their ability to handle the microphone with ease and clarity. The judges got one last look and then chose the new Miss Junior Christmas on the River and her court for 2018.

Fourth alternate was Taylor Mills Quinney, wearing a white chiffon dress with crystal embellishments and sheer bell sleeves. Taylor is a seventh-grader at Demopolis Middle School. Lauren Olivia Tripp, in a hot pink evening gown with a fully beaded bodice, was awarded third alternate. Ms. Tripp is in the sixth grade at DMS. Emma Ryan Edmonds, a sixth-grader from the University Charter School, earned second alternate wearing a white chiffon gown with white and silver bead work on the bodice. Placing as first alternate was Madelyn Baty Singleton, a seventh-grader from DMS, wearing a red satin gown embellished with crystals.

Crowned Miss Junior Christmas on the River 2018 was Demopolis Middle School seventh grade student, Caylee Madison Jones, in a gorgeous yellow evening gown with a train and crystal beading. Caylee is the 12-year-old daughter of Demetrice and Crystal Jackson. She is part of the Junior BETA club and plays the flute in the Demopolis Middle School Band. Jones loves shopping, singing and art. She is very excited and proud to be representing the title and looks forward to all of the COTR events and especially the day parade. Her message to other young ladies like her is to keep your head up and keep smiling and you just might represent Christmas on the River, too.
