Jackson Street reopens; ribbon cut on second bridge

Civic officials gathered, keeping a semblance of proper social distancing, at the Jackson Street bridge at 1 p.m. Tuesday as Mayor John Laney cut the ribbon to reopen the street.

Jackson Street has been closed to through traffic for one year and five days to replace its two bridges. The $2.2 million project included realigning the street to close off the old bridge as well as paving and striping.
