Hospital ED entrance shifting on Tuesday; closure expected to last 8 months to a year

Whitfield Regional Hospital will close its current Emergency Department entrance for construction effective Tuesday, March 29, at 8 a.m.

All Emergency Department access will move to the Outpatient middle entrance west of the main entrance of the hospital. This will include both ambulance access as well as walk-in patients. There will be no access to emergency services at the back of the hospital.

Steve Painter and Jason Robbins install parking signs for use by Emergency Department patients only.

In addition, several parking spaces are reserved for ED patients.

The change in ED entrance will be in effect for eight months to one year so that renovations can be completed. These improvements to the hospital will allow for improved patient care, provide better patient safety and enhance clinical quality.

The hospital appreciates the public’s patience during the reconstruction.
