High school seniors invited to WOW 2.0 to get started on future

West AlabamaWorks! and Shelton State Community College are hosting WOW 2.0, Wednesday April 6, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

WOW 2.0 is an event targeting high school seniors from the nine county West Alabama Region. The students will be able to speak with post-secondary schools and form a connection with industry professionals in a job fair setting. The aim of the event is to fill thousands of high growth, high demand jobs available in West Alabama.

“The goal of WOW 2.0 is to reduce the number of job fairs industry attends by maximizing this one event to find desired talent,” said Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama COO and West Alabama Works Executive Director Donny Jones. 

WOW 2.0 will allow high school seniors to interview for jobs with competitive companies in West Alabama. The opportunities include full-time and part-time

Three weeks after the event those students who have entered an apprenticeship or earned a full-time job through WOW 2.0 will be honored at a West Alabama Regional Signing Day. It will be held April 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy.
