FBLA Week full of activities

FBLA members display a week of activities.

Future Business Leaders of America at Demopolis High School join with members in clubs around the country to celebrate FBLA this week with activities each day promoting the organization.

FBLA advisor Kelly Gandy said the officers of the 123 members of the DHS club planned a week full of fun and interactive activities related to the organization for each day.

Members posted memories of their FBLA experiences, played FBLA Bingo, wore FBLA t-shirts and planned Service Saturday to help organize merchandise at the Bargain Box.

Perhaps the event that got the most enjoyment was Thursday’s Teacher Appreciation Day, said Gandy.

The refrigerator in the teachers’ lounge is on its last legs. FBLA members shopped around and, using club funds, was able to purchase a new one that will be delivered Monday.

“We’ve been getting emails all day” in thanks, said Gandy.

She, too, was honored with flowers and a gift from club members this week.

Bingo winners are Rebecca Pearson, first place, $50 gift card; Emma Givens, second, $25, and Sophia Pham, third, $10.
