DRA to provide equipment for Mercedes-Benz program at UWA

The Delta Regional Authority will announce an investment of resources Wednesday, Jan. 22 to provide funding for an automotive technician certification program at the University of West Alabama.

This investment of $100,500 will allow the university to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for trainees in the Mercedes-Benz Automotive Certification Program.

Funding will support a partnership between the University of West Alabama, Mercedes-Benz U.S. International and its Tier I and II industry suppliers to allow trainees from west Alabama to acquire the necessary skills and technical knowledge to meet the entry level requirements of employment in the automotive field.
