“Back on Jan. 18, the Demopolis Police Department worked a burglary at the Subway on Hwy. 80 East in Demopolis, Alabama,” according to the DPD report. “The suspect burglarized the business and stole cash from the safe. During the investigation, DNA evidence left at the scene has led to the arrest of Carl Worth Howell Jr. age 49 , of Prattville Alabama on July 3, 2014, for one count of burglary, third degree.”

Howell is suspected to be involved in several other burglaries across the State of Alabama and is being investigated by other law enforcement agencies, according to the press release. He is currently in the Marengo County Detention Center.

DPD Chief Tommie Reese commended his officers for their good investigative work in this case.

“This shows that we don’t just give up cases, sometimes it just takes a while longer to get them resolved,” Reese said.
