Demopolis golf unblemished at 18-0

The Demopolis High School Tiger Golf Team is now 18-0 for the regular season with back to back wins over Thomasville and Jackson April 3.

On March 20, the Tigers faced Thomasville and Jackson in Thomasville as Braden Spiller was the Low Medalist with a 35 followed by the rest of the Tigers.

Blake Bryant and Sam Yeager both shot 38, Jordan Williams 40, Chandler Stuedeman 41, Anna Reid 43, Mark Joseph Johnson 44 and Jonah Webb with 48. With these two match wins, the Tigers moved to 16-0.

On Thursday, April 3, the Aggies of Jackson and Tigers of Thomasville visited the Demopolis Tigers for a makeup match that was rained out earlier in the season. The Demopolis Team led by Braden Spiller with a one under 34 Blake Bryant with a Par 35, and Sam Yeager with a 37, Chandler Steudeman 39 and Jordan Williams with a 40, the Tigers shot their lowest score of the year with a 145. Other Tigers also contributed with Anna Reid shooting a 37, her best of the year, Mark Joseph Johnson had a 43 and Jonah Webb shot a 47. With these to match wins the Tigers moved to 18-0 for the year in regular season.

The Tigers’ scheduled 2-man scramble tournament has been rescheduled from Saturday, April 5 to a new date to be announced in the future.

“The rain just forced us to cancel the planned event and an alternate date is being set up ,” Demopolis coach Mike Black said. “On Monday, April 7 the Tigers will entertain the Brookwood Panthers and Thomasville Tigers in a match at The Ravine.

“As soon as the Tiger Golf Tournament is rescheduled we will let everyone know,” Black said. “We still want everyone to come out and play in our tournament and continue to support the Tigers.”
