DACC Candidates Forum to be held May 12

Candidates for four political races in Marengo County will square off at the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce Forum Thursday, May 12. All candidates are on the Democratic primary ballot. There are no Republican candidates for the offices.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the Demopolis Civic Center. It also will be aired live on the DACC Facebook page and over radio station 106.5 The River.

Scheduled to speak are the candidates for:

• District Attorney: Greg Griggers and Barrown Lankster.
• Sheriff: Robert Alston Jr. and Richard Bates.
• District 1 Commissioner: Freddie Armstead Jr., Mitchell Congress and Charles Jones Jr.
• District 3 Commissioner: Patrick Champion and Michael Thompson.
