Choctaw beats Linden ladies in third place game

LINDEN — Choctaw County saw three players end up in double figures as it dropped a depleted Linden Lady Patriot squad 55-39 in the third place game of the LHS Christmas Tournament Friday.

The Lady Patriots (5-3) hung in the game early, trailing just 21-18 as the teams headed into the locker room. Linden played dead even with Choctaw County through the early moments of the third quarter before a Tonje Willis three sent the Lady Tigers on a 13-0 run to cap the frame and effectively put Linden in the rearview mirror.

Willis ended with 13 points while Destiny Anderson had 11 for Choctaw County. Angelique Chess led all scorers with 21, capturing All-Tournament honors for her efforts.

Brunesha McIntosh made the All-Tournament team for Linden with 10 points. Imiya Agee finished with 14 for the Lady Patriots while Tomysha Boykin had seven.
