Buetler named a Capital One Academic All-American

LIVINGSTON – West Alabama junior Evan Beutler has been honored as a Capital One Academic All-American Division II Men’ s Soccer recipient.

The team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Beutler was the only Gulf South Conference men’s soccer athlete to be named to the team.

The Enterprise, Ala. native is a psychology major who currently holds a 4.00 GPA.

As a midfielder, Beutler posted two goals and three assists in his 14 starts this season. He set the Tigers on the right foot by tallying the game-winning goal in his teams opening 2-1 match victory against Mississippi College.
