Vowell’s offering breakfast, lunch for K-6 students

With children being out of school because of the coronavirus outbreak, Vowell’s Family Market is stepping up to help fill the meal gap.

The local store is offering both a breakfast and lunch snack for students in grades K-6. Each child must be accompanied by a parent, and meals are limited to one per child.

Meals are to be picked up at the Deli Department from 7-8 a.m. and from 1-2 p.m., said Kevin Johnson, manager.

While menus may change, the breakfast will consist of a sausage and biscuit with fruit and juice, and lunch will have a sandwich, fruit and juice.

“We strongly believe that our world is a better place when we serve others. So we want to take this opportunity to ‘pay it forward,’ and we encourage you to do the same,” said E.L. Vowell and Todd Vowell.
