UWA to remain closed Thursday

LIVINGSTON — Due to hazardous roadways and potentially dangerous traveling conditions, the University of West Alabama will remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 30.

Day and evening classes will not meet, and administrative offices will be closed. This closing includes the Demopolis Higher Education Center.

Young Hall Cafeteria will close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

UWA faculty, staff, and students may receive emergency notifications by subscription via UWA Alerts, the University’s emergency alert system. Visit the University Web page at http://www.uwa.edu/weather for updates.

Students and parents should consult these outlets for announcements. All parties should closely monitor weather conditions and reports and use judgment before traveling in inclement weather. Students who live on campus are strongly encouraged to stay on campus and avoid traveling closed or potentially icy roadways.
