UWA to have three games on ESPN3

BIRMINGHAM – The Gulf South Conference released the GSC on ESPN3 football schedule today and West Alabama will appear on the platform three times during the 2018 season.

The defending GSC champs are scheduled to be televised Sept. 29 at North Greenville, as well as Oct. 13 and 27 at home against Delta State and Florida Tech, respectively. On the 10-game package, only West Alabama and Delta State will be featured three times. UWA is the only program to have two home games broadcast.

“We are thrilled to be able to play in three games that will be broadcast on the GSC on ESPN3 platform,” Tiger head coach Brett Gilliland said. “This is a great opportunity for our university to be in the spotlight.”

ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices through the ESPN App.

The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost to those who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.

“We are proud to continue to feature GSC football on the national stage on a weekly basis,” said GSC Commissioner Matt Wilson. “The ESPN digital platforms maximize exposure and allow fans, student-athletes, and future recruits easy access to the best football in Division II.”

The opening broadcast for the GSC on ESPN3 is Sept. 15 when Delta State visits Florida Tech.
