UWA ranked No. 2 among state’s top schools

LIVINGSTON, AL—The University of West Alabama claimed the No. 2 spot among the top colleges and universities in Alabama for 2020 in a nationwide ranking.

UWA is ranked second only to the University of Alabama.

The national university and college rankings, generated through an analysis by Wallethub, are based on seven key factors: student selectivity, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes and career outcomes. Public and private not-for-profit four-year or above schools were considered.

UWA earned top rankings for the state in both admission rate and gender and racial diversity.

“UWA can be particularly proud of this recognition, as our highest scores in the ranking reflect our ultimate priority, which is serving students,” said UWA President Ken Tucker. “Serving the educational needs of our students and the region is paramount for us.
