UWA men’s tennis pounds Georgia Southwestern 9-0
AMERICUS, Ga. ā The University of West Alabama men’s tennis team continued its early-season dominance with a resounding 9-0 win over Georgia Southwestern Friday at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the young season and kept its 2014 straight-sets won streak alive at 26. Georgia Southwestern is 0-1.
Nestor Vargas, Anton Ivanov, Adam Drysdale, Simon Bardell, Manuel Grossmann and Kike Ruiz all earned straight-set singles victories for the Tigers. Drysdale and Ivanov were winners in No. 1 doubles, Vargas and Ruiz in No. 2 and Grossmann and Bardell in No. 3 doubles.
UWA remains on the road, playing at Gulf South Conference opponent Shorter on Saturday at 1 p.m.
