UWA closed Wednesday

LIVINGSTON — Due to continued threatening winter weather conditions, the University of West Alabama will remain closed through Wednesday, Jan. 29. Day and evening classes will not meet, and administrative offices will be closed. This closing includes the Demopolis Higher Education Center.

Nearly all campus facilities will be closed until further notice, including University Cinema, with only one exception.

Young Hall Cafeteria will close early at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, but auxiliary dining locations will be closed, including Tiger Alley Deli, Java City, and LUie’s.

UWA faculty, staff, and students may receive emergency notifications by subscription via UWA Alerts, the University’s emergency alert system. Visit the University Web page at http://www.uwa.edu/weather for updates.

Students and parents should consult these outlets for announcements. All parties should closely monitor weather conditions and reports and use judgment before traveling in inclement weather. Students who live on campus are strongly encouraged to stay on campus and avoid traveling closed or potentially icy roadways.
