UWA athletics announces 2018-2019 broadcast teams

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The broadcast team for the 2018 season of University of West Alabama football is set with Will Atkinson returning to the booth to team up with play-by-play man Robert Upchurch.

This will be Upchurch’s fifth straight season of handling Tiger football, while Atkinson is returning to the microphone for the first time since 2011.

All Tiger football games will be broadcast live on ESPN 104.9, the Twin States Leader. Broadcasts can also be live streamed via the ESPN 104.9 or UWA Athletics websites or on the ESPN1049 App.

The one-hour Sumter County Farmers Federation Tiger Tailgate Show will precede all home game football broadcasts. Pregame shows for road games will begin 15 minutes before kickoff. Nicholas J. Finch will handle football halftime duties as well as some pre and post-game segments.

The radio broadcast will be piped into the live Tiger Vision video feed of UWA football with the exception of the Delta State game on Oct. 13 and the Homecoming matchup with Florida Tech on Oct. 27. Both of those games will be featured as the GSC Game of the Week on ESPN3.

With Upchurch and Atkinson occupying the broadcast booth for football, the roster for Tiger ESPN 104.9 broadcasts in 2018-19 are now set. Finch will return to the mic for both men and women’s basketball, while Kent Partridge and Brad Montgomery are scheduled to be back for their fifth season of West Alabama baseball.
