“We greatly appreciate the support of Two Rivers Lumber Company and look forward to growing our classroom grant program,” said Ashley Coplin, Executive Director of the DCSF. “We value their commitment to our area and the school system and look forward to working with Two Rivers for years to come.”

Two Rivers has been in production since August of 2017 and produces 200 million feet of lumber a year. The company employs about 125, many from the Demopolis area.

“We are very pleased with where we are,” said Two Rivers co-owner Roy Geiger. “This facility is a lot different today than it was four years ago when we announced we would locate in Demopolis. The community as a whole has been very supportive and we appreciate that. We are proud to be a part of the Demopolis Difference and look forward to working with the school system.”

In addition to monetary support, Two Rivers Lumber Company is also seeking opportunities to provide high school students with internships, as well as, future employment, Geiger said.

It’s all part of the desire the company has to help change the narrative students may believe in regards to the lumber industry, he continued. Students may be surprised to learn that the lumber industry is not all manual labor and requires many technological and computer skills.
