Two busted for drug charges at Red Carpet Inn

The Demopolis Police Department arrested two on drug trafficking charges Thursday after executing a search warrant at the Red Carpet Inn.

DPD officers apprehended Michael Anthony Eldridge, 34, of Demopolis and Lakeisha Cherie Lawson, 26, of Demopolis in Room 208 of the Red Carpet Inn.

Eldridge is charged with one count of Drug Trafficking, one count of Possession of Marijuana First Degree, one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and five counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance. Lawson is charged with one count of Drug Trafficking.

The arrests mark the culmination of an extensive investigation for Demopolis Police investigators. Chief Reese praised his officers for this investigation and arrest.
