Traffic along truck route in Demopolis to be temporarily rerouted

Please be advised starting Monday, July 14, the Alabama Department of Transportation will be rerouting traffic from the truck route on Walnut Street to Fulton Street and Cedar Street.

This will be a temporary route until Alabama Department of Transportation completes the paving project on Walnut Street which is the current truck route. This paving project should not last longer than two or three weeks if weather permits.
“I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you during the next few weeks. However, in order to maintain the current truck route on Walnut Street, we must have these needed repairs,” Demopolis Police Department Chief Tommie Reese said.
“I am asking for your patience as we work for the future of our city. ”
Those who have any questions or concerns, can contact Reese at 334-289-3073 or Mayor Mike Grayson at City Hall at 334-289-0577 or email the DPD at tommie.reese@demopolisal.gov or Grayson at michael.grayson@demopolisal.gov.
