Tigers’ 2020 season stats leaders – game 5

The Demopolis Tigers have made it to the half-way point of the 2020 season. The Tigers have scored 177 points for a 35.4 points-per-game average and have given up 78 points for a 15.6 points-per-game average. Following are some of the individual stat leaders after five games.

Tyler Drake sits atop the passing category having completed 55 of 97 attempts for 960 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Camron Wright leads the receivers with 313 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 catches. Peyton Stevenson holds down the second spot with 230 yards and 4 touchdowns on 10 receptions. Price Smith has 13 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown. Kelvin Roswer has 109 yards on 5 catches. Jaqualon Smith has added 2 touchdowns while Craig Nichols and Will Cork have added touchdowns on receptions. The Tigers have a total of 11 receiving touchdowns on the season.

Nichols made up for some lost time against Shelby County by rushing for 167 yards on 18 carries. Nichols now sits atop the rushing category with 260 yards on 53 carries with 3 touchdowns. Kelvin Rowser has 159 yards and 4 touchdowns on 27 carries. Hayes Atkins has added 128 yards on 22 carries and leads the team with 5 rushing touchdowns. Lamarion Kelly has 111 yards on 19 carries. Stevenson and Drew Seymore have one rushing touchdown each on the season. The Tigers have 14 rushing touchdowns.

Drake adds 39 rushing yards to his 960 yards and ends up with 999 yards of total offense at the half-way point. Nichols sits in the second spot with 335 total yards, adding 75 receiving yards to his 260 rushing yards. Stevenson is in the third slot with 67 rushing yards and 230 receiving yards for a total of 325. Camron Wright’s 313 receiving yards have him in the fourth slot. Kelvin Rowser’s 159 rushing and 109 receiving yards put him in the fifth slot with 268 total yards. The Tigers have 799 rushing and 1079 passing yards for 1878 total yards on the season.

Grey Sharpe tops the defensive stats with 41 total tackles on 27 solo and 14 assists. Matthew Witherspoon is in the second spot with 25 total tackles (19 solo, 6 assists) and Laquinton Wright is in the third slot with 23 total tackles (18 solo, 5 assists). Mac Logan has 22 total tackles (16 solo, 6 assists) and Harrison Carroll has 20 total tackles (16 solo, 4 assists). Dexter Boston has 18 total tackles (12 solo, 6 assists) and Donald Means, Jr. has 17 total tackles (8 solo, 9 assists). Javien Blanks (14 total on 11 solo and 3 assists) and Stevenson (12 total on 10 solo and 2 assists) round out the top 10 tacklers for the Tigers. Sharpe and Blanks are tied for the tackles-for-loss lead with 7 each.

Blanks leads the team with 4 sacks on the season. Witherspoon has 3 sacks while Sharpe, Boston, Means and Brody Osburn have 2 sacks each. Logan adds one for a total of 16 sacks for the Tigers at the half-way point. (The Tigers did not record a sack against Shelby County, mainly due to the quick drop and throw by the Wildcats, which was probably a result of the 16 sacks that the Tigers had recorded through the first four games.)
