Tiger baseball 6-2 headed to Chilton County

The Demopolis High varsity baseball team is scheduled to get back into action Saturday with a double-header at Chilton County.

The pair of games will comes four days after the Tigers downed Sweet Water in both ends of a road double-header to move to 6-2 on the season.

The Tigers won the front end of the double-header 18-4 before picking up an 8-3 win in the nightcap. Wesley Anderson picked up the win on the mound in the first game of the twin bill. Matt Eicher went 2-for-5 with one RBI and a pair of runs scored. Devin Stroud was 1-for-3 with one RBI and five runs scored.

Mason Rogers went 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. Anderson helped his own cause, going 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Stephen Stewart was 1-for-1 with a RBI and a run scored. Josh Mangum went 2-for-4 with a double, on RBI and two runs scored.

The nightcap saw Brock Montgomery strike out six over three innings to pick up his first victory of the season.

Eicher went 2-for-3. Stewart was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Tyler Oates went 1-for-1 with a double and a pair of RBIs.

John Anthony Morrison was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Mangum went 1-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored.

The Tigers are scheduled to play in Clanton at noon and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
