Three arrests made in incident following pep rally

LINDEN — Three city police officers responded to an altercation in the parking lot of Marengo Academy at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to Linden police chief Scott McClure, the incident occurred after a pep rally at Marengo Academy and involved three individuals who were arrested Friday morning and each charged with Disorderly Conduct.

“It was a disagreement between exes involving their child and then the current spouses got involved,” McClure said. “It wasn’t a knock down drag out, it was basically just a little bit of hair pulling and throwing on the ground.”

One of the individuals involved in the incident was reportedly transported to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis and treated for minor injuries. She was released later Thursday evening.

The Linden Police Department arrested Amanda Wynette Wilkinson, 36, of Linden, Stacey Amber Kelsey, 33, of Thomaston and Ronald David Kelsey, 33, of Thomaston Friday morning and charged each with Disorderly Conduct.

“We didn’t actually see the fight, so we couldn’t charge anybody with harassment, assault or anything like that,” McClure said. “What officers did witness was cussing, hollering and acting disorderly in a public place.”
