Thieves steal six vehicles from dealership

A gang of car thieves stole six vehicles from Windham Motor Car Co. Friday night in what appears to be a rash of similar thefts.

Tyler Windham, dealership manager, said a variety of vehicles were stolen, including SUVs, cars and trucks. He was told at least one of the thieves was arrested after wrecking the car, although he is not sure where.

Investigators have learned of similar thefts at other dealerships, including Thomasville and Jackson. The Demopolis Police Department said it is working with investigators from other departments and following up leads on suspects. Further information will be made available later.
