Tears and Laughter: Liars and ladies’ men

One thing I like about Hillary Clinton is that she reminds me a little bit of my Aunt Mary, God rest her soul. And I would have voted for Aunt Mary. She always made chocolate candy every year for Christmas. She baked marvelous pies. And she, I believe, could have taken care of ISIS straight away because she was well-versed in raising hell and was willing to declare war if need be. She was a strong woman, and a far better Christian example than I should ever claim to be. But even though she reminds me of Aunt Mary, I’m still probably not going to vote for Hillary. I also accept that it makes no difference one way or the other. In the past I hear the Presidential results on television before Wilcox County rounds up all its ballot boxes.

And it is not that she is married to naughty ole Bill. I’m not voting for her because she supported the sure to fail Obamacare, and because of what happened under her leadership in Benghazi. She knew what had happened and was still able to launch the whole “it was because of a video” lie. She admitted it was a terrorist attack in an email to her daughter shortly after it had happened. She knew the truth and chose to lie to the world. She is comfortable lying to us.

That’s just my thoughts though. I don’t have any hard feelings toward anybody who does support Hillary. But I do assume at this point that if you are voting for Hillary it is about being committed to the Democratic Party almost more so than the candidate, just as devoted Republicans will – I guess – do the same with Trump.

I live in Wilcox County. And if you would like to witness what Democratic policies can do to an area, you should visit here. We have the highest unemployment rate in the state and I have zero hope that Donald Trump or Hillary will change that in any way. This is a county with a commission that passed a budget last week that went from being in the red $41,000 on Monday night to perfectly balanced with $90,000 to spare within 48 hours. Several mistakes were found they said. No changes should be expected in Wilcox County unless maybe the state intervenes in some way. But considering the current status of the upper levels of the Alabama Republican Party, Wilcox can relax. Not to bore you with a review, but the Govnah and Rebekah are still making headlines, Former Speaker of the House, Mike Hubbard, has been convicted of 12 felony ethics charges, and Chief Justice Roy Moore has been suspended for the rest of his term, again.

Maybe Sunday night’s debate changed their minds, but as of Friday, Republican congressman Bradley Byrne and Governor Robert Bentley stepped forward to say they can’t support Donald Trump. No. He is beneath them and they feel he should drop out of the race entirely so that a qualified, moral candidate can run. Well…just who exactly is this bright light of ethical leadership and wisdom and where have they been hiding? Trump won from a field of 17. It may seem unbelievable, but he is who the American people put on the Republican ticket and anyone who has played grab-ass on a state owned plane within the last calendar year should not be dictating voting advice or acting like they are the moral high ground. Trump’s comments from 11 years ago about women were repulsive. It is disgusting that he thought there were women out there who would allow certain liberties to men with money and fame. That is just unheard of and ridiculous. Wonder how he of all people ever got such an idea?
